Keto White Chicory Oven Bake with Cheese – 2 ways

Simple and delicious Keto recipe of White Chicory: one with garlic herb cream cheese and macadamia nuts and the other part with a Gouda cheese crust! This dish contains about 8.5 grams of carbs per serving of 2 chicories.

Ingredients
  

  • 350 grams (4 x ) white chicories
  • 100 grams Mozzarella cheese grated (for half the dish)
  • 2 tbsp / 22 grams garlic herb cream-cheese (for half the dish)
  • 30 grams macadamia nuts
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp freshly grounded black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Wash the 4 white chicories and cut all of them in half.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 356 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Take a big cooking pan and add about 2/3 of it with water. 
  • Add 0.25 teaspoon of salt to the water and place the white chicories inside.
  • Once the water is boiling, wait about 10 to 15 minutes till the white chicory is getting soft.
  • When the chicories are fully cooked, you can place them in a colander. Let the water drain for about 5 minutes.
  • Grease an oven dish with olive oil. 
  • Add the drained chicories in the dish and add 0.25 tsp of salt and 0.5 tsp of pepper on top.

Option 1: White Chicories with garlic & herb cream cheese and macadamia nuts

  • Spread one half of the white chicories with the garlic & herb cream cheese.
  • Sprinkle pieces of cut salted macadamia nuts on top.

Option 2: White Chicories with mozzarella cheese

  • Add grated mozzarella cheese on the chicories. 

Bake the white chicories

  • Place the oven dish in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius / 356 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  • Keep on checking the oven and remove the dish once the mozzarella cheese is getting a golden brown colour.
