Equipment

  • Oven or skillet

Ingredients

  • 300 grams greek yogurt
  • 100 grams almond flour / coconut flour
  • 1 small bag / 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 3 tbsp psyllium husk
  • 2 tsp xanthan gum
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 x big pinch of salt
  • 300 grams butter melted
  • 0.5 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 0.5 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter to bake the naan (in case of using a skillet)

Instructions

  • Take a big bowl and add the almond flour, baking powder, psyllium husk, xanthan gum and salt to it.
  • Whisk until well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, add the Greek yogurt and olive oil. Then stir the mixture.
  • Add the wet ingredients in the bowl with the dry ingredients.
  •  Stir everything with a fork until a dough forms.
  • Wash your hands and kneed the dough just very briefly.
  • Form a ball from the dough and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Cut the dough ball into 6 portions.
  • Melt the butter in the microwave or in a pan. Keep an eye on the butter, especially when you melt the butter in the microwave, because it can easily get to hot and "explode".
  • Cut the garlic in small pieces. Wash the fresh parsley and coriander, remove the stems and cut the leaves into small pieces. Add all this to the melted butter.
  • Add some salt and pepper to taste and stir it.
  • Let the garlic butter rest for a bit, because then the flavours will mix.
  • Now you have a choice between baking the naan bread in the oven or in a skillet.

Keto Garlic Naan Bread from the oven

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius/ 356 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Take one of the portions and place it onto parchment paper. Take another (smaller) piece of parchment paper and press the dough flat. The Naan Bread should be about 0.5 cm thick.
  • Prepare the rest of the dough balls in the same way.
  • Spread the naan bread on the parchment paper evenly on an oven grill rack.
  • Top the naan bread with some of the melted butter, garlic, parsley and coriander mixture.
  • Bake the Keto Garlic Naan Bread for about 10-12 minutes in the oven, until golden brown.

Garlic naan made in a skillet

  • Heat up a skillet with olive oil or butter on a medium heat.
  • Let the oil or butter heat up for a moment and then place one portion of the naan dough in the pan.
  • With a spatula you can press the dough carefully, so it flattens and becomes a bread. Keep pressing until the dough is about 0.5 cm thick.
  • Top the naan bread with some of the melted butter, garlic, parsley and coriander mixture.
  • After about 2 minutes, turn the bread carefully.
  • Take another spoon of the melted garlic butter mixture and spread it on the top of the naan bread.
  • Bake the bread until it has a golden brown colour. Turn the bread again if one side looks a bit pale.
  • Per naan bread this takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Now the Keto Garlic Naan Bread is ready.
  • Each bread contains about 7 grams of carbs (net carbs might be even lower), 4.8 grams of protein, and 66 grams of fat.
